Warm the oil moderately, drain it into a suitable container, renew the filter and all supplied seals, refill with approved diesel engine oil, then confirm level and leaks after circulation. Preserve the old filter for inspection if metal contamination is suspected.

Open the air-cleaner housing, prevent debris entering the intake, remove the old element, clean the housing without blowing dirt toward the engine and install the correctly oriented replacement.

Renew both diesel filtration stages, prefill only if the factory procedure permits clean fuel to be introduced safely, prime the low-pressure circuit and check every joint for air ingress or diesel leakage. A dirty clear prefilter is also a useful warning to inspect the tank and old hoses.

Diagnose the preglow circuit before removing parts, identify failed plugs electrically, gain clean access, and remove each plug with controlled torque. If a plug binds or risks breaking, stop and use a specialist extraction plan rather than forcing it.

Keep the injection system surgically clean, label hard lines, remove injectors with the proper deep socket, send suspect units to a diesel shop for opening-pressure and spray-pattern testing, then reinstall with new sealing components and leak-off hose.

Drain a stone-cold system at the specified radiator and engine points, replace a suspect thermostat with a new seal in the correct orientation, refill with the approved coolant mixture, bleed by the factory method and verify stable temperature and leak-free pressure cycling.

Inspect the belt, idler/tensioner bearing, damper and spring as a system, record routing, release tension with the correct method and renew only parts confirmed worn. Rotate every driven accessory by hand before fitting the exact belt.

Support the engine with a broad load-spreading pad, replace only one mount at a time and raise the engine only enough to unload that mount. Inspect for oil or power-steering leaks that may have destroyed the old rubber and confirm hoses, fan and linkages are not strained.
